Positive results

Cupcake tested positive in the starch test because when the iodine solution was applied it turned black



During the carbohydrate test we tested glucose by placing a small amount of food in a test tube along with water and benedict solution. After boiling them in water, tomato and carrot tested positive because the solution in the test tubes turned a cloudy orange color



Lastly during the lipid test we determined which foods tested positive for fats by rubbing them against paper and seeing if if the paper turned translucent. This test determined that butter, cupcake and bread all contain lipids
